Cover your nakedness!

It’s a man’s job to respect women but it’s a women’s JOB TO GIVE HIM SOMETHING TO RESPECT. People please let us cover our nakedness. Remember now you should live a life set apart. Meaning, I use to walk around half naked and I didn’t do it for girls and I didn’t see nothing wrong with it. When I got saved I took into account that this body of mine is the Temple of God. It does not belong to me anymore but it belong to it’s rightful owner It’s creator (God / Jesus Christ).

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:1, 2 NKJV)

We may actually cause some people to have lustful thoughts which is sin. The Bible says that if you look upon someone with lust, it’s the same as committing the act of sleeping with somebody that is not your husband or wife. We do not ever want to cause someone to sin- that’s a serious offense in God’s eyes. Also, if you are a Christian you should see yourself as an Ambassador for God’s kingdom. Think about how the royalty and dignitaries in other countries, or our congressmen/women dress when they are representing their countries. We represent Christ and should take our roles as representatives for the kingdom of God very seriously.

  1. While I agree that we must be careful because we are not to be stumbling blocks to others, in the same token, others have to be responsible for their own actions as well. There definitely are some who will lust after us no matter what we wear or how we act…

    1. But the clothes you wear surely helps attract less unwanted attention. You can definitely dress in a way that people will not look at your body. I think we should really try to dress better.

  2. Women/children of God, you must stop wearing all this relieving of skin kind of clothing cause it’s inappropriate. You demand respect but you should give people something to respect first. How will people take you seriously if you busy prancing around like immoral women? Stop seeking men’s attention because you will get a whole lot more than you are bargaining for. Cover your NAKEDNESS. Dress to please God and your husbands or future husbands!

  3. Reblogged this on Coffee and Contemplation and commented:
I found this inspiring and refreshing. As a Christian it is important to be modest, and sometimes we need to be reminded, but honestly, being modest is the most stylish look you can have because it attracts only one kind of person, the right kind. Thank God I have a man that loves me no matter what I wear and loves when I dress in modest classy fashion 🙂

  4. I’ve seen so many friends and young girls I know go on missions trips and dress as not to offend but here at home it’s a free-for-all. Maybe we all need to dress like we are on a missions trip, ’cause we kinda are.

  5. Have friends and even some young women from my church who have gone on missions trips and they dress so appropriately on the mission field but here at home, it’s a free-for-all. We should all dress like we are on a missions trip…’cause we kinda are.

  6. Man in sky creates universe of breathtaking detail and proportions, creates all life, smites a few unruly ruffians, is embodied in son and dies for our sins and STILL has time to care what you gals wear down to Tiger Tiger on a Saturday night. What a guy.

  7. I do not agree with this. As some may like to dress conservatively, others feel comfortable wearing less. I think if someone wants to wear a crop top and short shorts, that’s great, good for them. Why do women have to dress the way their “future husbands” would want them to. We are just as human as men. We have jobs, we went to school, we have our own bank accounts and homes even. The world has changed (for the better) and women have right, we don’t tell me how to dress and what’s appropriate. Women are human too. Just because we are showing a bit of skin doesn’t mean we are unworthy.

    Welcome to 2015.

      1. If you’re talking about 1 Timothy 2:9 “likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, but with what is proper for women who profess godliness—with good works.” In this verse, Paul is directly addressing gold/pearls/expensive outfits. This is entirely different (or accurate) version of modesty. It doesn’t include covering bodies; rather, it addresses vanity. There is no bible verse saying that women should cover their bodies. It’s a complete myth with no biblical support.

Not to mention that Eve was naked when she was sinless. Only after falling from grace did they cover themselves in shame.

  9. Amen!! I am a Christian and have been a Christian since I was five. In my house I learned from a young age to dress modestly and still dress modestly to this day. Even though it can be hard to find clothes I always manage to find something modest to wear; even if that means sewing my own outfit!

  10. While there’s nothing wrong with choosing to dress modestly, I think it is important that we acknowledge 1) That nowhere in the Bible does it say women should cover their bodies 2) In fact, Adam and Eve were naked when they were sinless- only after they fell from grace did they cover themselves with clothing 3) It’s ridiculous to believe a woman must cover her body as though it is a sinful object- when in fact God created our bodies as good and beautiful in His eyes, not as something that is dirty. To assert that our bodies are inherently sexual and dirty is, in my opinion, sinful. We cannot twist God’s creation in that way.

    1. Love not the world nor the things of the world, a simple question we should ask ourselves when choosing clothing is this, what would Jesus do?? he who lived for the Glory of the Father, He who lived not to do his own will but the will of Him who sent him. would he be dressed up with the trendiest fashions of this world, to satisfy His desires or maybe his opinion?? Nope

the bible is clear that a Christian is NOT their own, Body, Spirit and Soul. they were bought with a price and should therefore live for the ONE to whom they belong. 1 Corinthians 6:15-20 “glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, WHICH ARE GOD’s.” Romans 12 says “present your body as a living sacrifice, HOLY and Pleasing to GOD”, if is pleases anyone else, including your own carnality, it sure doesn’t please GOD.

when we live to do GOD’s will, Modesty is not a question, an option or an opinion, it is a standard and we flee from anything that may even remotely be a stumbling block to others or a bad testimony of our faith. Genesis 3:21 says God made Garments for Adam and Eve; Therefore if their nakedness was a good thing, I dont think that the omniscient GOD would have done that.

in the below verse the LORD JESUS is speaking, and this church is not being congratulated for their nakedness even though it is figurative, what more, literal nakedness??

Revelations 3:18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness….

if we exam our hearts and the underlying reasons why we dress the way we do and resist anything that has to do with an outward reflection of inward Holiness, will quickly find out that GOD is not that reason
